Re: Startup enrichment trouble from heat soak
Ok I found that previously but not sure I understand fully how it works. Am I correct in assuming that setting it to .8 the ecu would then look at act much more then ect for calculating enrichment and isc multiplier?
Is there anything else that would need to be changed or dialed in?

Re: Startup enrichment trouble from heat soak
.8 would use 80% of the act temp and 20% of the ect temp for startup enrichment lookup
youll have to dial in the startup enrichment table
but again its pretty useless since you said you already fixed your issue.
Also if the ECT reads 210 after sitting for an hour same as it does when you shut it off and restart when hot then you probably have something going on mechanically your trying to tune around.

Re: Startup enrichment trouble from heat soak
Yea that’s not going to help me then. The issue is a 180+ ect immediate restart is not the same as a 180+ restart after the car sits. When I dial it in for the immediate restart it’s lean and shitty when heat soaked. It never ever dies or anything it just sounds like shit for the nice car that it is. If I rape the high end of the enrichment table to counteract this then instead of starting nicely at 12-1300 rpm and settling down when it’s not heat soaked it shoots to 1600+ rpm’s and over revs way more then it needs to.
I do think that I’m trying to tune around a mechanical issue. I think my fuel heats up or something, it’s always ran lean after restarting after sitting. My fuel setup isn’t far from stock though and I’ve wrapped lines to try to help. I don’t want to redo my entire fuel system at this point and I’m not sure what else it could be. So I’m trying tune around it if possible.
I think the act lambse multiplier is my only solution albeit not a great one. It would be ideal if I could have it run on a timer!

Re: Startup enrichment trouble from heat soak
its supposed to rev to 1600 that means it wants the fuel.
Fuel definitely isnt the problem. Sounda like idle air needs some adjustment.
if you think its heat soaking and vapor locking just simply kick up the pump prime time from say 3 sec to 25 sec to push the hot fuel out.

Re: Startup enrichment trouble from heat soak
Maybe the fuel lines near the turbo need insulation? I could be vapor locking the lines while it sits and the turbo is still hot.

Re: Startup enrichment trouble from heat soak
Is it possible to change the act lambse multiplier from looking up fn1307(base fuel table) to fn1306(startup enrichment table)?

Re: Startup enrichment trouble from heat soak
Insulating those lines is one of the things I’ve tried. Also went from a 340lph pump to 255 and extended the return line in the tank to make sure the fuel isn’t aerating. I have tried to increase prime time before but only to 6 secs, that even seems like to long to have to wait lol.
I really insist I have the car dialed in nicely. It’s possible I’m trying to bandaid something I haven’t been able to figure out but I feel if I could find a way to safely add fuel at startup when the act reads high I’ll be all set.

Re: Startup enrichment trouble from heat soak
act multiplier is global its always multiplying even during base - startup before going to stabilized fuel
again im not understanding why you would want that since you said when you add fuel the rpms come up. Thats indicative that its too lean and needs that extra fuel.
maybe your not communicating it so i can understand but it sounds like youve already fixed the issue.

Re: Startup enrichment trouble from heat soak
I know but if I could get it to only multiply the startup enrichment table instead of the base table then I would never have to worry about it adding fuel at wot on a long pull. My guess is this would be a code change and something I couldnt easily change myself, is that correct?
I obviously didnt word that correctly, I cant get it dialed in in both conditions. I took 2 logs of both conditions after I got home from work today.
This was an immediate restart right after I got home, and a screenshot of the isc multiplier histo. Its a damn good startup that im happy with. Even though my WB isnt reading you can see the NB is camped out on the rich side so it has plenty of fuel. This is the restart after a half hour of sitting. Even with my act multipliers being at .787 above 110 and .922 above 94 its still quite lean. The multiplier is definitely helping though because without it when the WB kicks on it would be at 1.3 lambda.
