When i try to access the homepage to read the write-ups I get the "something cool is coming" or site is under construction.

No idea, it works fine here. I pinged all the servers and everything seems fine. Might be jumping servers and you got caught in the middle?

Try reloading the page and see what you get.

I work at a national lab and they have the web browsers locked down for the most part, so that may be it.

I'm getting the same screen when I type the site name in the top bar. Only way I can get to the forum is by searching for the site in Google and then clicking on the forum link. A other links take me to a 404 page.
