4R70W to 4R75W Swap

Hello
I am new to tuning and am having some trouble with fixing the Output Speed Sensor Pulses Per Rev. The tune I pulled off of the truck seems to not like the XDF file, wondering if anyone had any suggestions or any help they could throw my way.
I am using an SCT X4 to retrieve the tune on the truck and plan to install it using that, I'm not sure if that could cause any issues, but seemed to me to be the best option. When I retrieve the file back on my PC, it shows as a BEF file, and not a bin, so that could be the issue, just not sure how to make adjustments to that.
If nothing else, I guess I need a stock Bin file to work with for a 2002 Ford F-150 5.4 2v with a 4R70W.
Thanks a bunch.

thats not a tune file thats an xcal file
a bef is not a bin
even if you have as bin you cant write it with an xcal
what are you trying to do exactly? what all do you have done to the vehicle?

I had ordered a used transmission from a junkyard, they sent me a 4R75W, instead of a 4R70W, which has 24 teeth on the output speed gear instead of the 6 on my old transmission. I was told I can tune it out, and that is all I'm trying to accomplish. I don't need any better performance, just want the OSS Pulse count fixed. The truck is completely stock, minus the 4R75W.
I know I could probably talk to the junkyard and get the right transmission. I don't mind the stronger trans, I just really don't want to pull the trans out, as the torsion bars are stuck in the keys, and I'd rather not mess with it.
I'm just frustrated, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think you're going to be able to do much here with the SCT. If you have the SCT Software, you should be able to open the BEF file and make the needed change (pretty sure the BEF file is a proprietary, encrypted file, similar to Binary Editors BEB files). If you don't, Tunerpro won't be able to help you.
It sounds like you bought he X4 just to 'deal' with this change - I have no idea what the X4 costs, but I think you'd probably be much further ahead returning/selling the X4 and getting PCMFlash and an OpenPort 2.0 (or another compatible J2534 device - I can say that a GM MDI2 works perfectly) and using Michael's definitions and Tunerpro.
Side note: I'm pretty sure a 2002 F-150 doesn't fall under the FBGI0 strategy.

afaik bef is not an sct file its an xcal file
and afaik sct can only open sct .mtf files
sct does not allow you to read tunes off of vehciles its just one way writing tunes only, your stock tune should be in the sct database for their software
what is your ecu hardware code and cal code?
fbgi0 runs the f150s fine but it requires tuning. Maybe not so much if its all stock though.

Hardware code is MPC-204, where can I find my Cal Code?
I have access to an MDI2, you can pull a tune with that?

With a MDI2 and PCMFlash, yes, you can read the BIN out, then you have to re-arrange the banks so Tunerpro can read it right (The info on rearranging the banks is in the 'Getting Started' section, and I think there's a sticky here somewhere), after making your change with Tunerpro, swap the banks back and you can then flash it back with PCMFlash.

Cougar, I take it I need the special dongle for PCMFlash, and cannot use my MDI dongle?

Correct, you'd need to purchase the dongle for PCMFlash and module 29 to read/flash ford EEC-V PWM PCMs. It's $108 all in (there might be shipping...)for the hardware dongle and the software license for module 29. And if, down the road, you wanted to add more modules, you'd just buy more modules to add to the dongle.
What's your catch code? In my case on the FBFG2 strategy, it's PTP2, it'll be on the tag on the PCM.
The MDI2 is the J2534 hardware interface between the PCMFLash software and the Ford EEV-V PCM.
