So, WTF?
Do I have a bad batch of TI chips?
I can write to the F3v2 no problem.

I'm going to try to write a blank bin, full of 0xFF, because it appears that I can write any bank 0189 0x*0000->0x*1FFF and it writes.
As soon as it gets into the code area, it fails: ERROR: PROM I/O returned Failure.

That may be because your using an incompatible jaybird firmware to write with. I have a jaybird with the older firmware that I use to write some chips and a newer one with a newer firmware revision that I use for newer chips.

You can change the firmware by flashing the jaybird. Prob need to dig around on the moates site to find the specifics and download what you need.

Yeah, I thought about that. Even though I have same firmware as what shows in TI's website for using.

I see that there is:
- 5.14F Legacy firmware shipped in all units up to 2016. Does NOT support F3v2 chips currently shipping in 2017
- 5.16F Supports Ford F3v2 chips (released October 2016).
- 5.18F Supports newer F3v3 chips (2023+_. You'll want to select 'F5')

Currently running 5.16F, thought about downgrading, also thought about the 5.18F upgrade.

I suppose I'll try downgrading first to 5.14F see what happens. All I can do is try.

Thank you.

Well, now I'm just pissed.

Downgraded to v.14, and now cannot upgrade. It's stuck at v14!!!

If I use v16 or v18, it successfully says updated to v14.

Nope and Nope.
Using the firmware updater, select 5.16.F, says its successful with 5.14.F, and TunerPro shows 5.14.F.

don't know, should i contact Moates?
