Re: 300/4.9 Fun Truck
All advice appreciated. I tow a small boat, and run around on the weekend so looking for a balance between mpg and performance. Ultimately I would like to end up with 7-10lbs of boost and around 300hp but torque is more important than HP to me. I don't have any experience with the tuning but understand combustion engines so any feedback from you more experienced folks would be much appreciated. My first order of business is leaky axle seals and brakes so was gonna change the 3.08 diffs to 3.55 limited slip. Any opinions about the diff swap?

Its all the same, performance, hp, tq and economy.
3.08 limited slip would probably be most ideal depending on tire size usually for an m5r2. With boost later the stock gear will be much more enjoyable again depending on tire size. Gear it so your no more than 2000 rpm at 70mph on the highway. The blower will take care of the rest when the time comes.
best bang for the buck is to fab up an old eaton m112 or tvs. Youll want to pulley it for 4-5k rpm and restrict the inlet to make max tq down low.
yeah maintenance first

31 or 32" tires is what I am looking at.

70mph at 2000rpm with the 31". Gonna bump up to 32" and should be good to go.

Check you speed with your phone gps. You may have quite a bit of speedo error due to the tire height change. Will you be venturing towards anyplace with hills? I realize Fl is flat, haha.

Had to use the phone. Speedo is dead atm. No plans for hills atm. I have family in Kentucky and Oklahoma so would only see hills on a visit.

Any drawbacks to using the m90 vs 112 super charger. without holding both in my hands is seems the m90 may be easier on the fab side of things. I know this will provide less boost but can I compensate with pulley setups?
