Recurring PO1409 using CRAI8

Unread post by ATPCR »

My 5.0 c-n-p project test engine is running well and reliable. The "Godzilla" coils work really well with the ~21-year older pcm technology.
However, I'm having a bit of an annoying issue not related to that. I'm having a recurring PO1409 related to me deleting the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid. I have searched and searched through the bin file and can't quite seem to switch it off entirely. I came across an internet post whereas
someone else did a similar deletion and it was suggested to them to install an appropriate value 10-watt resistor across the two wires for the solenoid to make the pcm think that everything is there and functioning properly. I don't have a problem with doing such if it will keep the check engine light off. Has anyone here had a similar issue and what did you do?
I have an engine swap coming up installing a 1999 Explorer powertrain into an antique Mustang and would like to get this small annoying situation cured on the 5.0 #1 test engine before I move forward with 5.0 #2.
I'm aware that the pcm and engine will function fine with the check engine light on with this PO1409 however I would rather the light only come on if there is a real issue or problem.
Thanks in advance for any input or suggestions.

Well, I found 3 here kind of related. Do I set them all to 1 0r 0?
