X3Z Question
Decipha, I have a couple of questions if you don't mind:
I have a HCI car that just got a 10# Procharger, 60#LU Ford injectors and a VMP INM-019 mass air in a 3" tube, Holley Systemax intake, TF heads, cam designed by the engine builder but was pretty mild,and LT's. Without a tune at ALL, It starts fine cold, (I did just use a stock X3Z code for kicks and modified the Crank Fuel numbers and now it does fine hot),revs fine and they even drove it a little ways even and said it drove great, so question:
1) Wondering how that is possible?
Also, (and you can chastise me if I did wrong! :) ) But I DID load a tune you sent me recently with the same maf and injectors for an A9L code that had a turbocharger on it but I was
2)Thinking it can interchange with the Z3X strategy? and it ran awful, could barley keep it running,
However, I could not get my NTK/Powerdex wideband to work at all even with trying 2 sensors (one was brand new) and it worked fine a month ago, kept throwing a sensor 4 code. So I got no information on a/f so it might just be extremely lean ( No indication it was rich, I.E. no black/gray smoke, no sooted plugs, etc.)
3) Can you put the maf curve for a HPX-E/VMP INM-019/SCT BA 5000 on the website? I tried to copy and paste the maf curve into a X3Z code without success but obviosly I'm no computer whiz!!!
Just wondering how the thing ran so good stock and like crap when it should have at least been much closer than a stock tune unless the A9L2 base tune you sent for the other car was way different and/or it can't be used on the X3Z

That just means the injector to maf ratio is within' the 33% adaptive range of the stock injector to maf ratio.
x3z isn't a strategy its the cal, it uses the GUFB strategy same as the A9L.
that vmp maf is no where near the same as the hpx-e or the 3000 maf (its only about 60% as you observed by how it ran). The sct 5000 is made by pmas its just an hpx-e.
Adding maf curves and other data is on my to do list when time permits.
This should get you going just need to dial in the maf

THANK YOU AGAIN!! for some reason I thought in my previous post you said the VMP,HPX-E and BA3000 were all the same, as usual I was wrong! LOL I know I speak for everyone when I say we appreciate all your efforts to help us! I'll try this out on Tuesday and let you know how it works out!

the vmp non calibrated ones are the same not the 'cal'versions for any of them

Update ( like you were waiting on the edge of your seat to hear about it! LOL): Went to the car Tuesday morning, didn't have much luck with the tuning, car shows lean (16-17 which was as far lean as his wide band would go) at idle and up to 2500 rpm,added fuel like normal but just could not get the car right, it was like I was chasing my tail, adding 10% would sometimes make the car go from 15's into the 10's and 11's ??? Then it would act normal? finally thought I had it, revving clean a/f stayed in mid 14's except a lean stumble at 1700-1800 added fuel for that and seemed to cure it until it hit 3000 rpm and then it was like it hit a rev limiter, scratched my head for a few minutes tried it on stock computer only in order to rule out a tuning error on my part, same thing, I then noticed that fuel pressure was dropping from 35psi at idle to it would be at 23 psi by 3000 like clock work and stumble happens (verified this was happening with the 2 different gauges on the car) so I tried adjusting the BBK regulator ( Uggghh) and couldn't get more than 2 more psi with screw all the way down and also found a coolant leak while in engine bay and called it a day. If I could get this thing to run like it does on the stock computer, I would turn cartwheels ( not happening, I'm 60 yrs old!), It idles, runs, revs (till 3000) PERFECT, it's FANTASTIC which makes no sense, I know you said it was the mass air to injector ratio (Not exactly sure what that means but I can kind of figure it out) but man it runs good with no tune at all, going back when they get the regulator replaced and the coolant leak fixed and give it another shot.

why would you adjust the regulator if you verified it was set correctly at idle ?
obviously the fuel pump is the problem

I thought that maybe the regulator was bad and bypassing too much fuel and thought that at idle it would at least increase some by adjusting it even if the pump was weak but I told him that day to pull the tank and check their work on the new pump that was installed, not sure what they put in it as that was a couple of months ago when he discussed that with me

Would it push enough fuel to run at all? I figured backwards it would just circulate it back in the tank

yep
nope, when wired backwards it typically drops fuel pressure pretty hard when the pump gets taxed just exactly as you described
