2025 F150 Wont Shut Off - Because USB Ports Powered

Posting this here as a PSA.

In my effort to keep the usb charging ports alive with key off I jumped off the usb charging ports with the navigation fuse in the kick panel.

Apparently the usb charging ports circuit is used to shut the engine off because it would not shut off.

Had to remove the jumpers to get the engine to shut off.

I have verified that if you backfeed the usb charging ports with a battery feed the engine cannot be shut off.

That is nuts! How is one supposed to charge a phone or do anything that requires power with the engine off? Guess they did not want people draining the battery?

years ago yamaha had a problem where the cooling fan would generate power and cause a delayed engine shut off. (coasting fan blade after key off. ) they added a diode and fixed it.

I jumped off the 12v cigarette lighter adapters and use them with my small inverter than has usb outs for charging.

In the future I'll run a 4ga feed to the rear for my 3k watt aims inverter and probably an amplifier so i'll mount a few usb chargers there as well.
