Re: How accurate is the hp/tq histogram?

No, cuz torque isnt the only determining factory for most optimal gear shifts.

Theres a 20+ variable engineering calculation for gearing ratios. Everything from tire friction to ambient temp, coef drag, center of gravity, wind speed, etc.. goes on to it. Thats like trying to model engine flow with limited/missing data.

Best bet is trial and error.

You could always do a gear vendors if you need to split gears or trying to get every last bit.

Re: 1998 Ranger PWM/FEPS ecu tuning

I never knew any eec's were restrictive to tune.

What is that makes them restrictive?

Youll want a moates QH but unless your a premium member you wont be able to get a def file made.

What is your ecu catch code?

if its just idle rpm and shift functions that would take all of 2 seconds to make a def file for.

Re: Making a minimalist EEC-IV

could remove anything hes not using, light bulbs, screws, lug nuts, tape, wiring loom covering, ground wire insulation, etc...

Your talking hundreds of hours or work to remove just a couple lbs.

To go to that extent its imperative hes on a strict diet to limit his own body weight.

Re: 10R80

Yeah no problem but there is no def files available so youll have to make them and that can be pretty tedious.

What are you using to tune them now? Sounds like hptuners from you mentioning licensing. Hptuners should never be used on a highly modified vehicle as the program layout makes it impossible to break out too many parameters that should be changed.

Re: U4PO swap on Bronco II.. Is Evap solenoid needed?

if thats the case then its a controlled leak so all you do is dial it in and it gets baked in to the air model.

Re: VE table values greater than 1.0

How much percentage difference would that make? Should be less than half a percent.

That amount of percentage is pretty negligible.
