Re: Stock ECU Clone?
That's really it in case the battery dies. I've had the same quarterhorse in one of my supercoupes now since around 2009. It was one of the originals and didn't have the bad resistor that caused the coin cells to die. Its been problem free 12 years now.

Nice good to know! Is that on the same battery this whole time? My QH is from about two years ago.

Re: Stock ECU Clone?
I think that is the primary reason. You could be stranded if the battery dies and you can't run on the stock tune. But if you have other vehicles why not use it for something else and replace it with a "rock solid" cheap device that gives you a more finished solution with dial selectable tunes?PaulC-turbo5.0 wrote: ↑2021 Mar 10, 15:37 Why specifically are you guys saying it’s not good to leave the QH on the ecu? I’ve wondered about this and know if the memory battery dies it could cause an issue without a laptop but is there another reason?
I feel like I’ll never get to not wanting to data log once in a while and keep learning but also don’t want to cause myself any issues either.

At this current moment I dont have any other vehicles to use the QH on but I would like to change that eventually. I also do have an SCT 4 bank chip that will do exactly as you describe but like I mentioned above I cant just hookup to that at any given time like the QH. Only if the QH didnt need that tiny battery!!
