Tuning laptop configuration

I recently purchased a new laptop to use for tuning purposes. It is a Dell and came with Windows 10 Pro or 10-11 OS. It also has Edge for the Internet browser. I would like to take it to my family member that is the computer guy in the family and have him simplify it for me a bit. It all seems so geared to someone that is going to be constantly shopping online. I'm going to use the machine strictly for tuning. I read about a simplified OS called tiny 10 and thought that it might be better than what came with it. I will be going online to download TunerPro and dowloading tuning files via this forum mostly. I will also be installing PCMflash from ECU tools. I will be using a dedicated e-mail address that will be for this laptop too.
Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated. As soon as the pass-thru device arrives, I will be shipping to Michael to test it for me. Thanks!

Tiny OS will not run tunerpro natively.
If you’re not familiar with it, will be a hassle.

Best bet with your windows, is start uninstalling programs you do not need . Don’t be afraid, you can always reinstall the programs if needed later.

My first download on a brand new computer is to download Google Chrome and make it the default browser instead of Edge (Firefox is probably fine too). I'm not sure how bing search is now, but it was always terrible compared to google, you'll want to make sure that bing isn't set as your default. I pretty much ignore the windows store crap, the search function still works fine for opening local applications you have installed.

It looks like there are guides to disable the windows store completely, but I have never tried it, so I don't know if it negatively impacts anything else (I sort of doubt it). It partially involves registry editing which is straight forward, but technically can screw up a computer very badly (requiring a reinstall of Windows) so I would follow the guide to a tee if you want to go that route, but it isn't really necessary.

You might have some other bloatware that came with the laptop you can probably just uninstall too.

Good tip on the "tiny 10" OS. I use Firefox here on the PC that I'm at right now. I don't get excess ads with it like I do at home on the wife's laptop with Edge. As long asTunerPro and PCMflash will work with it, I'm good with the Windows 10 Pro. So I will give my tuner laptop to my brother and tell him what I intend to do with it and "trim the fat" a bit on the Windows 10 Pro, I feel sure that he will know what to do. A guy at my work is using a web browser named "Brave Browser - mission to protect your privacy online".

Personally, I stick with the web browser that comes with the OS.

My only issue with DuckDuckGo is that when downloading some various different programs for a fresh windows install (this was for my dad, so he insisted on DDG over Google), the top result brought me to some weird website that looked like, but was not the official website of what I was trying to download (might have been notepad++ or 7zip, both of which are also immediate downloads for me personally). I went through the download/install process so fast I didn't even catch that it wasn't from the official website until after I downloaded it. Was pretty paranoid for a while, though nothing seems to have come of it, antivirus didn't complain about anything either.

I've heard good things about Brave, but I have never used it.
