data dashboard doing some weird things

Unread post by dleach1407 »

I started tuning the 98 cobra today and noticed a few weird things. While cruising at low rpm and even idling, the knock light on the dashboard was flashing on and off in orange sometimes staying on for 20 to 30 seconds while idling. Its running the timing in the base tune you sent me but comparing it to the AOL1 stock tune it seems the timing in the stock tune is a lot more conservative. Should I mimic the stock timing settings under 90% load in my base tune? The knock light seems to be flashing pretty much any time the car is running. I also noticed the WOT light on the dash would randomly flash on in green, even when just idling. The TPS appears to be functioning as it should and I get a clean sweep when pressing the throttle. Any idea why this would happen

Also, do you apply the histogram maf adjustments to the raw maf curve or the SP** maf curve. I understand that they are linked but applying a 10% correction to the raw table is not the same as applying a 10% correction to the SP** table. My scaling percentage is right around 2 so the raw values are about half that of the SP** values.

That means the adx doesn't match the datalogging patch code your using. Two different revisions.

Doesn't matter which maf curve you apply it to the error percentage is the same. Yes it is the same as applying it to either. You have no reason to be viewing the raw values though.

The modular engines don't want much timing. It could be knocking for real if the spark is all jacked up. You said 98 cobra but I don't see any mention if it's stock or what mods it has.

Its a stock cobra engine with a pro charger. Decipha provided a base tune to me about 6 months ago setup with the correct injector slopes and basic settings and I have made no changes to the tune other than the maf curve. The car idles around 27 degrees at about 15% load (23% perload) based on the dashboard. Comparing to the stock tune, that seems pretty far advanced. Im just not sure if its actually too far advanced of if im using incompatible files. The WOT light on the data dash coming on while simply idling makes me think there is an incompatibility some where.

I see two other strategies listed in your bio, CBAZA and RZASA. I'm wondering if there's a sort of bug in the patch code when switching between different strategies and dashboards.

Maybe with the two files you screenshot above laded, try disabling, then re enabling the datalogging patch code with the CRAI8 ADX/XDF. Maybe it would fix the miscommunication if there is one. This may be what decipha way trying to get you to do.
