Disappearing dashboard

New laptop.
Not the “dashboard won’t show up when i hit the button” issue.
Every time I click somewhere outside of the dashboard it minimizes the dashboard. Hitting the button brings it back. Rather annoying that it always has to be brought back. I followed setup instructions to rhe letter.
I do recall having the same issue on my old laptop but cannot remember what the fix was.
Grateful for any suggestions.

Tried that. My option there is Dock/Undock Active Utility Tab. Clicking it does nothing (as well as the Ctrl/F8 shortcut).

Solved. Issue was the function keys were locked. I was able to click to unlock the dock but to lock it I had to use the Control/F8 key and didn't realize I had to hold down the FN key too. Stupid Windows.

FN (function) keys are specific to laptops and maybe some compact keyboards that allow you to have stuff like volume and brightness controls without needing extra room.

I don't know if there is a setting to change it from a toggle or default to use the function keys since it is primarily a hardware thing.
