221/225 @ 050 duration on a 112 LSA. That's a healthy but not wild cam on a 5.0. I'd guess it'll be a little rumpity at idle on a 351 but smooth out and pull pretty soon after. The 112 LSA is probably leaving power on the table vs something like 108, but is probably as narrow as you can go if you want to have a chance of passing cali emissions testing. (I think I remember you're in Cali, right?)

All that said, I doubt a cam with 30 degrees more 050 duration is going to behave well with the stock converter. I'd look up who is recommended for the E4OD/4R100 trans and call them up about what they recommend for a converter given your engine specs.

Yeah I'm in cali but I'll pass fine running e85. One of the cam reviews on summit said it worked good with the stock converter on a 351w (though he did say a 2200 stall converter would probably be better).

Is the kirban adjustable fuel pressure regulator the only way to get 30psi on a stock rail? I have a two and three hole rail that I can choose from.

Why would you want to lower fuel pressure? Worse atomization, etc. 40 to 60 is usually the sweet spot.

I'm just glad you put some thought into the convertor. It's often overlooked. Are the axle gears and tires going to be stock?

Yeah sticking with stock 3.55 gears. Going to run 33" tires which is a nice gear range on the other truck we have.

Ok cool. With the tallish tires I'd definitely be leaning toward a higher stall than stock.

How does higher stall effect cruise efficiency? With the 33's crusing at 60 will be in the 1500 RPM range. Is that not an issue with a lockup converter?

1500 rpm cruise is going to be awful, especially with a larger than stock cam. They didn't even run that low as setup by Ford. Highly recommend you go to 4:10 or 4:56 axles if you're going to run 33s with a cammed 351.

For comparison, I'm running 285/75/16s with 4.10 axles and a non-overdrive trans with my built 300, which has a slightly smaller cam (222 @ 050, 264 @ .006, 480 lift, 110 LSA) yet larger cylinders (4" x 4") than a 351 (4" x 3.5"). My cruise RPM is 2900 @ 65 mph which puts the engine right in the fat part of its powerband.
