2000 Ford F53 6.8L V10 Blown Head Gaskets (NOW RUNNING!)

Did a compression test.

All cylinders had at best 10psi dry, & 10psi wet. The exception being cylinder 1 & 5, which had 50psi and 60psi respectively (wet & dry).

My problem is how to get to the timing chain cover.

I assume the fan bolt is left hand thread.

Any tips, tricks, and valve timing procedure would be appreciated.

I think its more likely to be bent valves from the sound of it.

I managed to find a Ford service pdf, i'd like to upload it for future reference for anyone else if possible.

Got the heads pulled, valves are fine. (At least, not bent)

The head gaskets were smoked. Literally.

The knock sensor and head temp sensor wires were melted... fingers crossed.

Any brand/model recommendations for a straight edge to check the block deck?

Head gaskets replaced and engine starts!

Any way, since this is an F53 chassis, i'd like to add an exteranl fuel pump for better flow/pressure and serviceability.

Any recommendations on a quality external fuel pump with adequate flow?
