If adding A/C to an engine that did not come factory with A/C, does the EEC-V/EEC-IV need to be changed?

I know there is code that ups the idle when A/C compressor comes on.
Is that code in all EECs? or just ones that came factory with A/C?

you can jusr wire it through the ecu same as stock so it kills it at crank and at wot.
