Minimal Information needed to Tune

What are the minimal scalars, flags, tables and functions that are needed to 'Dial in Fuel' on a speed density tune?

Basically, I am disassembling KID1/KID2 from scratch, and am about 80% completely disassembled.
I am doing this for the fun of it, and also because that is what my 351w has stock installed.
I have tried the C3p* tunes for speed density(SD), and am unhappy with the results.(stock KID* vs stock C3P*, I like KID* better)
There are SO many parameters, and I want to only include ones that I will be modifying as a bare minimal starting point.

From what I understand, I need the following for minimal XDF:
- identify the VE Table
- set X and Y scaling
- set conversion equation

Then for the ADX, I believe I can use the universal file.

Is there any thing else I would need, or can the XDF contain just the VE Table info as 'minimal' starting point to tune?

wow 80% complete is pretty impressive! I don't think I've gotten that far on any of my disassemblies yet.

it depends on what all modifications you have done to the vehicle and just how in depth you want to get??

yep you can use the adx you will need to patch the logging code in your binary and set the polling addresses in the adx.

At a minimum I would include the ve table, the open loop fuel table, spark tables, IAC functions and the injector setting. With those, you should be able to fit the tune to any number of mods.

Side note: what hardware code is KID? I wonder if it's the same as TAG0

'percentage complete' can be subjective. About 80% of the binary/hex converted to assembly, about 40% functions/tables named, and another small percentage of comments added.

I am starting small, plan on diving in as deep as it goes.

I have more questions about injector information, specifically about batch vs sequential, will start another thread in a few days.

OK, I have patched in the data logging code into binary, done.

In the XDF, I have created a 'new patch', and added 3 entries:
- patch code with starting address (located in 0xFF area of bin)
- the call to the patch code address location(in Console Routine as per write-up)
- pay loads for data logging start address

2 Questions:
1) Do I have to re-calculate bin checksum, I noticed it did not change?
2)Set the polling address in the ADX?
- reading over the Universal ADX, I do not see where this is done

TunerPro has the checksum ability built into the XDF header utility. I used A9L as an example to set it up on m0m2.

I thought the checksum HAD to be there, as I thought the bin verified the checksum.

Ok, done, and working!
Minimal XDF containing VE table, MAPOPE and N normalizing functions, and data log patch.

Now to start 'dialing in'', then add other fuel table, injector and spark as I learn it.'
