Ultimate Ford EFI Tuning Guide for Binary Editor/Moates

Unread postby 89fast5oh » Sat Jan 12, 2019 11:43 pm

I came across mention of a book called The Ultimate Ford EFI Tuning Guide for Binary Editor/Moates. It says it is the best write up about tuning the EEC-IV.

It costs $80. Would this book be worth buying and studying for someone like myself who has quarterhorse and understands the basics of tuning and would like to learn more?

I'm using the A9L2 with the GUFX strategy. There is a ton of information and write ups on this site. Decipha has done a great job and put a lot of hard work into his programs.

Anyone every read it? Is this book worth it?

I have it, I bought also Coyote Cookbook from Don. I have also read Deciphas guides. They all are valuable info. Some things are controversial but I think that is because Decipha tunes rather differently, more like "hacker methods"

So do you think it's better to do it one way or another or can Decipha's tuning strategy and Don's book be combined and use the info from both?

I have been tuning from 2010 and still learning. I like to use Binary Editor and HPTuners softwares, so La Sotas books work fine. I bought Coyote book to learn these newer, I tuned 2014 3.7 V6 and had hard time with torque management and limiters.
Some things I have adopted from Decipha, so I use that to make it simpler. But when tuning newer vehicles, I use those books. HPTuners forum has good info too, like this link https://forum.hptuners.com/showthread.php?54426-Newby
