Zero Fuel On Tip Out - CBAZA

Unread postby Frank N. Stang » Wed Jun 13, 2018 6:48 am

Hello,
Currently trying to fix bugs in a T4M0 CBAZA tune for supercharger. Email base tune was done in T4M0. Main bugs I'm trying to fix is zero fuel, 22.4 AFR, off throttle and lean, 17 AFR, at light throttle (enough to maintain speed) during normal driving. I would prefer it be like stock or at least 17 off throttle and 14.7 light throttle. I have to be accelerating to stay in good AFR range which becomes a problem when trying to adhere to speed limits. I've done a lot of research and most posts I've found reference GUFB. Gives me an idea on theory but haven't found anything concrete to fix my issue in CBAZA yet. Been able to fix a couple things searching the forum but can't crack this one. Attached is the tune and a short log. Any and all help and advice appreciated!

Thanks!

fuel control is 100% identical on all mass air fords from 1988 to 2018, absolutely 0 difference none at all not even a slight variance in the slightest its all exactly the same

zero fuel would result in engine shutting off

the log looks good, fuel looks to be within 10% with the exception of idle, just simply dial it in

Only reason I mention it is that it did not do it with the NA tune. It shows in the log off throttle at cruising speed the AFR is 22.4 and HEGOs are .01 to .005. That's no fuel unless I'm missing something. Car is basically bump starting itself down the road. It also bucks off throttle.

It's probably misfiring allowing oxygen into the exhaust.

This popped into my head on last log run. You have any suggestions on things to test? It idles ok. I saw injectors are running and it's getting air on my last log run while it was doing this. What would do you think might cause the spark to fail when coasting?

Thanks

Improper plug gap, shit on the electrode or ground strap, garbage coil/wires, etc

Ok. Also talking to tuner and a friend that dabbles in tuning to see if the spark tables/multipliers are off causing no spark at low load/rpm. Narrowed down to hardware or software issue at least.

Thanks

Well I went thru the car and fixed a few things. Still had a no spark issue at coast and cruise. Finally fixed it after cleaning the MAF and clocking it to a position more inline with the airflow.
