RAAD3 Tuning

Unread post by masnecar »

I am getting ready to get my truck tuned after having built and swapped a 5.0 into my Ranger, and am preparing to order the quarterhorse to get it tuned. I have not been able to confirm yet if my ECU is supported or not. Details from my ECU are below.

PCM - Powertrain Control Module
Part number: F87FAVB
Strategy : RAAD3G5
Hardware type: ML2-473
Copyright Ford Motor Co. 1997

Is this PCM supported? I searched and was unable to find anything in particular pertaining to this specific ECU.

Update: I reached out to Moates, and they said the quarterhorse is NOT supported for my ECM - however they referred me to Core Tuning.

Upon looking at their website, it appears they are trying to sell a package with Binary Editor and QuarterHorse - this does not make any sense.

Help?

Awesome - Will do. Question though, do I purchase the hardware (quarterhose) through you, or through Moates directly?

Quarterhorse has arrived! Is there any additional hardware I will need to purchase before becoming a premium member and getting the tune started? Wideband, etc? I'm not looking for gains initially (planning on running a base/stock tune for now), just datalogging, maybe increase rev limiter and change shift points.
