Thanks, decipha!

I failed to mention that I am doing all this without a wideband so the FE% is what TPRT is spitting out. I assume that is still OK.

The Flow values are only there because they are in the XL file I am using to do all the calculations. I'll be multiplying those by the FE% and setting it all up again.

I am (still) running through the first step to dial in fuel (looking at FE% at various IMAF points) and have made a couple of adjustments to the MAF curve. As this progresses, the KAMRF values are sometimes pegging at 0.969V. They regularly go above and below 0.969V but often = 0.969V for periods of a sometimes a few seconds or even much more. It seems that this is happening more as I adjust the MAF function but that could just be coincidence. I feel like I have reached the limits of the EEC to manage the short term fuel trims (i.e fuelling is way off) but there is one example where the FE% is being reported as around 0.98 at the same time as the pegging.

Also, in collecting FE% data, keeping IMAF constant for around 10s, the KAMRFs sometimes bounce between two (only two – nothing in between) values. In one log for example at 400 IMAF, the KAMRFs are either 0.988 or 0.992 (one or the other). At this time the FE% varies between about 0.98 and 1.02 and the LAMBSEs are around 0.98.

What does this all mean?

anything +-- 5% is dialed in, so any correction between 0.95 and 1.05 you ignore

Noticed recently that by IPSIBR value was high so made the necessary adjustments to the idle screw and now she idles warm at around the DSDRPM value and IPSIBR at 0.

Did a couple more IMAF runs and found something else.

On a couple of runs, while holding IMAF constant, HEGO2 drops and remains lean (around 0.03), while HEGO1 operates as normal, bouncing between 0.1 and 0.8.

I am running on one HEGO - #1 thankfully - but am wondering if this is a sign of an exhaust leak or something similar.

no way to know unless you know how lean it goes at that condition on the other bank

What I sometimes do is swap hego control to see the condition of the fuel overall by swapping all fuel control from bank1 to bank2

simply set numego back to 2 and change all of the injectors to use bank2 in the output port table

dont mind the CEL for hego1 setting a fault if it bothers you just disable the codes it throws for the o2 errors since that side isnt controlling anything lambses on that side bank1 can go all over the place since its not doing anything

anywho, with fuel dialed in first on bank1 after you swap to bank2 hego fuel control you can see what that side has to say

Thanks, that's great. I'll just leave it until I get everything sorted on HEGO1 and then switch it over and check it out.

The way the PRO-M throttle linkages are, the only way I can undo the throttle stop lock nut is at WOT so I have to stop the engine to undo and retighten it. Unless I make a special spanner, which might be on the cards shortly.

So I have been loosening it off and then running the car at idle for a few minutes before adjusting the idle. Then I wait until the engine has cooled to save burning my fingers and then tighten the lock nut. Recently, when I tightened it, I am afraid I moved the stop screw slightly. I tried to return it to the same place but I suspect it isn't quite right. My idle RPM is good but the IPSIBR has lifted again.

Can I just do another regular idle reset (unplug IAC, TPS and SPOUT adjust and reconnect) or do I need to do something more (like battery disconnect).

Thanks heaps. So does it matter if I open it up while the engine is off or do I need to go through the whole process again?

fire it up get it up to warm operating temp and see what IPSIBR is at, if its at 0.05 or less then its fine, estimate 1/8th of a turn on the throttle stop for every 0.05 IPSIBR has to correct
