Update MAFV or IMAF table or both? - Solved

Unread postby yeastieBoB » Wed May 16, 2018 7:06 pm

Am I supposed to update the MAFV or IMAF table, or both? Just realized I’ve never asked. Thanks.

IMAF is VMAF

Are you referring to the ad counts and the voltage maf transfer functions?

if so they are both the same function just displayed in either ad counts or voltage to whichever you prefer

Ad counts? I mean the two FN036 tables. One has a MAFV column and the other has IMAF. I see now that updating the kg/hr column in the FN036 with MAFV updates the kg/hr column in the other FN036 table.

Do I need to worry about the IMAF column at all?

What does IMAF stand for? Couldn't find it in web searches.

fn036 is a function not tables. Tables are 2d interpolating between 4 cells and functions are 1d interpolating between 2 cells.

yes the two functions are the same. I have one in ad counts for those that prefer that. And I have the other in volts for those that prefer that.

IMAF is the instantaneous maf voltage displayed as the ecu see's it in analog to digital conversion counts i.e. AD Counts. On the last of the eec-v's they do not have a maf voltage payload as the maf voltage isn't filtered the same as it is on the eec-iv. For simplicity, I include both in all my defs so the end user "you" can choose what works easiest for you.

You shouldn't have to adjust the IMAF or MAFV values unless you need more resolution between two points.
