Like the title states, right around 10 years now. The car and I have both been through a lot.

Quick rundown for those who have no idea who I am, got an '89 5.0 5 speed car in 2013 and learned to tune it on decapped explorer 19s and E85 thanks to Decipha's old write-ups in 2015 and 2016. On3 kit went on in 2018 and immediately broke the T5, so it got a 4r70w and CBAZA ECU. Broke that trans a year later and it's been sitting since.

i built an engine back in 08 that sat til 16 when my cousin borrowed it for his car when his engine crapped out. I remember that time in between there being a long time. Now its hard to believe its been sitting in his car now for 10 years just waiting on a new distributor.... absolutely unreal

best bet is to get a v6 trans and slap it in if you have any intentions of rebuilding yours. never make a vehicle inoperable while your tinkering.

It has an 04 v6 trans in it now that I disassembled for an 8-tooth output, but it's a basketcase. Won't engage 3rd or 4th, and leaks from the pump gasket so it has to come back out. I imagine the original 4r is mostly trash considering how hard I was beating on it before it failed completely.

Found some stability in Austin working for a space company but I've been getting into motorcycle racing and motivation to lay under the fox has been in short supply. I would be interested in any non-Dynojet tuning options that might exist for a first generation Kawasaki Z1000.
