2005 E-350 5.4l 2V XDF

Post by efloth »

I have been reverse engineering a 5C2ACYB calibration and building an XDF. So far I have identified the paired stoichiometric AFR values, one populated 9 × 11 load/RPM spark table, four startup/cold-fuel tables, and their related functions. The calibration values are native big-endian 32-bit floats.

Several additional 9 × 11 spark structures use the same axes but are zero-filled in this calibration. The populated table currently looks more like Base/Borderline spark than MBT, although I am still looking for IAT, ECT, lambda, knock, and torque-related spark corrections.

Does PCMFlash automatically correct the checksum when writing this strategy, or does the checksum need to be calculated separately before flashing? Any information on the checksum, spark calculation path, or startup-fuel table identities would be appreciated. My goal for this XDF is just enough to tune the stock engine for e85.

I think this xdf has everything needed to tune for e85. Any help with adjusting the fuel injector differential pressure compensation? not sure what the startup surface fuel values represent either.

yes pcmflash will correct the checksum

xdf is useless for development. post your disassembly and we can try to sort it together

The SVS1 cal / TAIP2 strat was replaced by TAIP3 / SJP0. The link on the homepage shows the ford catch code updates. Best bet when tinkering is to always snatch the latest and greatest cal update.

There is a lot you'd need to break out for E85. Attached base tune with changes for E85.

enjoy

Wow thanks! I'll give it a shot over the weekend. So, you have TAIP3 broken out? If you can share an xdf that would be amazing. Where did you source the newer binary? Do I need to worry about injecting the VIN into the file you sent over?

I tried the new bin you provided. Crank no start. I confirmed VID Block is good and instrument cluster was working.

Yeah its not going to without the equizzer updated too. That ford cal included an equizzer update.

This should have you all good.

That worked out perfectly :) I had to look up what an equizzer is.
