CDAN4 ignition compatibility

I'm looking at some unusual engine swaps into a '95-'97 town car. If I remember right, the stock ignition system on that era 4.6 was EDIS internal to the ECU (no external EDIS module like some other Ford models/engines had ) with two 4-pot ignition coils. They had a camshaft sensor, so it's possible they were fully sequential spark (as opposed to waste spark like the early EDIS stuff).

I'm wondering if that's the only type of ignition system CDAN4 will run or if it contains the code for the other Ford ignition systems of the era. Specifically, can it be configured to operate TFI (the later CCD type) or individual COP?

cdan4 only has 4 coil outputs, the cylinder on compression gets the hotter spark (resistance) while that on exhaust gets less

all fords are waste spark even the the CoP up to the new 2027 all do MSD.

No it cannot operate a tfi but you can wire it up for CoP as is common on the 96/97 cobras.

So...... to run a TFI, I'd be looking to swap to a AGANF or CBAZA ECU then?
