Hi there,
I am a repairer in Australia.
A customer has an old ford pickup he imported from Mexico with a 4.6 swap.
The part numbers for the ecu point towards an 04 marauder or similar vehicle.
4W7A-12A650-JD
My research indicates this ecu should have pats?
There is no key or key reader to be found in the vehicle so I'm assuming it's been deleted.
The vehicle was running but no longer runs. Ecu does not communicate however there is 5V on the SCP/PWM line when ignition is on.
We are looking to replace the ecu with anything compatible but don't have a key reader setup and would Ideally be after anything that is without pats, or easy to delete pats on.
I have scanmatik+pcmflash and vcm3+IDS and many other tools but nothing specific to these ECU's.
I want to be certain on a repair option as I will have to import it from the states likely.

if its not communicating it may have the obd2 turned off or there may be a chip on the j3 port on the rear of the ecu.

If you still cant read it you can ship it to me and I can try to brute read it if the obd2 port is disabled tuned wise.

4w7a-... is all useless. You need the actual hardware code on the ecu such as MPC-195 or similar.

If you cant get the tune file off the ecu your only option is to tune it with a quarterhorse.

What all is done to the vehicle?

It is an mpc-197. Ecu has no visible damage inside, no chip on the back port.
Vehicle does not start and ecu does not communicate with IDS (+recovery mode) or k-tag or pcmflash , key wakeup error etc, wired up on bench.
Engine and tune is stock and untouched. We are looking for an ecu that is capable of running this engine without need for purchasing a key reader or keys.

just put a factory replacement ecu in it

forscan is free and will let you program theft

It's my understanding that I would need purchase a key reader in order to do so, and need to purchase two keys for it?

what is a key reader ? you mean it has no transponder ring?

Yes no transponder ring. No info on donor vehicle. This vehicle a 1955 ford pickup with a column shift transmission. Ecu part number is all I have to go by. There are police interceptor stickers all over so that may be why it has no pats.

what is the 4 character alphanumeric calibration catch code on the ecu connector sticker like PDN0 or so??

JHU3 is mine. I manage to find same part number from another police interceptor, will give it a try and see if I can configure it with IDS.
