HEGO wiring

Been reading a bit recently about extending HEGO wiring and am wondering about the effect this would actually have on an otherwise well tuned engine.

Say we have an ideal engine and tune that runs well with minimal fuel error and we extend the engine harness HEGO wiring on one side by 12” (without moving the HEGO itself). What would we expect to see from a fuel error perspective?

No perceptible change so long as the extension is done properly.

If joins are high resistance or the wire is undersized then voltage drop would start to impact results.

Running the revised HEGO wiring with other high current circuits could impact results due to EMI.
