Foxbody EEC-V

Looking for some guidance as I've found limited info in my searches...

Current setup: Boner Stock 92 Foxbody (A9P), '03 4R70w (microshift)

Plans: EEC-V Swap retaining '03 4R70w trans electronics, and factory 92 ignition (TFI/Dist)(I know it's trash)

I'm aware that the DIS is a better setup, and plan on using it on some future projects, however I'm just trying to get my feet wet with the QH on a stocker setup and play around with the 4R70 and tuning parameters before I dive into something that warrants the DIS.

In my searches I've seen the '96 F150 5.0 ECU suggested, but I'm not clear if it will support the requirements I have for the transmission. (would prefer to retain '03 trans electronics).. Before I go on my search for this ECU, I just want to confirm with some of the more knowledgeable guys that this is possible and that ECU is my only option.

Any suggestions or input is appreciated!

Jim

Do you need to go to eec V to control a 4r70w?. I thought 94/95 mustang CBAZA u4p0 can control a 4r70w? It would be a more simple swap for you too. Decipha had a swap article on one of his supercoupes I believe.

Here's some info from the writeups page regarding the 4r70w swap and wiring.

Yeah the 94/95 auto mustang v8 ecu would be much easier and faster to find and swap out. Only would require replacing the tcc solenoid on the valve body with a 1 ohm tcc for a 94-95 mustang v8. Its one retaining bolt that holds it in takes all of 2 seconds to unplug and plug the other in once you drop the trans pan.

but yeah otherwise if going the eec-v route the 96 ecu would be your only option. It would require a custom tune and premium membership though as not enough of it is broken out publicly.
