Apologies, I should have given a bit more info about the factory setup. The car has EECV with the wasted spark setup already, and has the 3pin coil pack plugs seen below:
I know that when each trigger wire is fired by the PCM, that two plugs are fired at the same time. What I'm trying to establish is whether for the COP setup (I picked up a set of 2 pin Godzilla coils) is whether I need to fire two coils in parallel or series. I have the male connectors to plug straight into the factory wiring harness so just need to wire up from the current EDIS plug on each 4 tower coil to each individual coil.

If you are going to use 8 coils that are wired as your firing order, you have to use a pcm from an American Crown Victoria or some other similar Ford, truck, Mustang ect., that has an 8 coil-on-plug set-up. The pcm has 8 coil drivers to fire each coil in the engines' firing order. My 1997 Thunderbird 4.0 has the wasted spark system with 4 coil drivers built in the pcm for wasted spark. When I go to use this wiring harness ONLY, I have to modify it for 8 coil drivers and 8 coils. The wire is already in the harness like your V-8 wasted spark harness, but you have to rearrange wires. I deleted the rear o2 sensors at the same time that I did my first conversion to 8 coils near the (each) cylinder. This freed up some wiring to repurpose for the additional 4 coils. You have to like doing car wiring and be prepared to have all of the wires exposed after removing all of the wrap and tape.
In the USA the best pcm is one for a 2003 Ford full size sedan. Other Ford pcm will work as long as they are coil-on-plug, 8 coils individually from 1999-2000 American Fords. Australian Fords are very similar in what is going on in the particular year groups.
There are a few Australian forum users here that could be more specific about the information.
On Ebay, there are 2003 Crown Vic pcms available. Just watch out. Ebay prices are overpriced on this item.
