Those addresses are all (0xFF) in the bin as you said. What should be written for PATS to disable?

Either read out your ecu and grab pats, or try this binary.

how does the tune get corrupted?

you need to copy over your pats code in order for pats to function, doesn't matter if the vin is blank. 'hex' area I assume yall are referring to the strategy tag, that CANNOT be blank as it will cause the AICE chip to reset. In order to disable pats you need to know where the pats disable switch is to enable it.

Also, If the ecu is blank then you have to write it otherwise if your using a j3 chip you have to jumper it so it serves the full binary otherwise if the ecu is blank the aforementioned AICE chip can't initialize if the strategy tag is blank.

I've attached an MNAE0 HNE4-B updated cal for HNE3. I disabled pats in there for you. Also Henry did a really nice job on the HNE3/4 cal its really well done in stock form.

In the programming sub-forum I have my bin converter to drag and drop the file to convert it to any order you need.

btw- thats a rare find, a '99 f150 with a 4r100 trans.

still doesn't work since masking needs to be turned off. Does anyone know if that even possible on the f3v3?

f3v3 auto switches the pats code if you write a 4 bank tune.

Youll need an f3v2 or get one modified. Craig said shoot him an email if need be.

best to just write the ecu directly with pcmflash and a goose

I found an f3v2 and closed the outer pads. Neither bins work. I am not sure if what else to try. Do I have to inject the VIN into these bins? theft light goes off but no instrument gauges initialize. Crank no-start.

Not sure how the internal ROM gets corrupted but here is what the QH read out.

the theft light should flash

if the odometer is all dashes then that means the cluster isnt communicating with the ecu. if the check engine light doesnt come on with key on then that means the ecu isnt powering up. Cluster doesnt matter though since theft is disabled but more likely you have a bad fuse relay or wiring.
