I remember from years back, if you used an A9L with an automatic car, you'd typically burn the computer's PCB up.
Using this CBAZA puter, is that an issue or no?

Not 100% but I thought that had to do with the reversal of the O2 wiring or something. A9L vs A9P or A3M or something. It's been years since I've even seen a A9P so I could be wrong.

Any chance you checked your intake gaskets? I've see a thread someone was having the same issue and it ended up being a set of 1250 felpros getting squished out. Just an idea?

yeah I checked them. Smoke tested the intake. Smoke tested the crankcase with the elbow/throttle body off looking for smoke up through the intake runners. Checks out fine.

pulled injectors, sent them out, they all flow the same, no leakage--everything came back perfect as I expected them to. I'd have thought that if I swapped them side to side, if one was bad, the problem would follow and it did not. Still lost on this deal.
At a car show the other day I had mentioned to someone there about this problem and he asked if I had an aluminum flywheel. I do. Guy said he had to swap his back to steel and it made a difference. I can't understand why though. Weird!

Have you tried just running it in open loop? Or can you just temporarily run both banks off of the bank 2 HEGO and read the plugs?
I suspect that maybe your exhaust leaks you mentioned are introducing air to the o2 sensor, causing false lean readings when the spark plugs are showing rich. I don't think reading plugs is a very definitive test, but if they are showing black and sooty despite "running lean" I would trust the plugs over the o2 sensor reading (unless you are misfiring of course, in which case the sensors will run lean as raw fuel is not read by them).
One thing you can try to fix the flange leak is using the high temp gasket maker (red or orange typically) to seal up the header flanges. From what I've been told this isn't extremely uncommon to have to do with long tube headers, I assume the proper fix would be to have the flanges decked or otherwise made to be flat.
