Converting maf data

Unread post by lilxtra »

Is the maf data for a HPX in a 3" tube in KG/HR? I'm using a VMP 5000 slot style maf & the data should be the same for both, I'm tuning a T4M0 code and it's in LBS/Min and need to convert it for Binary Editor, am just learning TunerPro RT and not confident enough to dyno tune one with it yet. What's the easiest way to convert the curve, not good with Excel ( I'm old!) I think EEC Analyzer can do it but can't remember and not near my tuning laptop to see. It's on a '95 GT HCI car with a 10# Procharger with Ford LU60 injectors & the VMP maf if anybody's curious. THANKS for any help!!!

the homepage has the equation for converting

BE doesnt have the ability to show unscaled values so youll need to scale it.

easiest to just plug it all in tunepro and disable datalogging.

then you can open that tune file with BE and go from there.

THANKS!!!, But I'm just totally lost on TunerPro, I opened it up again and tried to just look over a stock T4M0 tune and look around for about 10 minutes, only way I could find the BKT table was to change the view to Parameter type instead of Parameter Category, still haven't found the maf transfer curve! LOL! . I am honestly trying to use it but for some reason it just seems like Greek to me and I feel like it's 2004 and I'm just learning what tuning actually is. IT's been a very ***HUMBLING*** experience with it so far!!!! Would you consider just building me a T4M2 base tune for a '94 GT with AFR Renegade heads, Steeda 19,cam and Edelbrock Perf RPM 2 intake,10# Procharger, LU60 Ford injectors, and a VMP 5000 slot style mass air that will work with Binary Editor? I read where you charge $200/$250(?) for a TunerPro base tune, will a BE.bin tune be the same cost? if so, How do I go about purchasing one? If I continue with it, (I can do the tuning from there unless something stupid happens,LOL) it's not so much the tuning process, it's figuring out how the software works/how to make it datalog, where everything is at, what it's called, etc. that I have issues with. THANKS for your patience and understanding on this, I know I sound like a total idiot and feeling like one right now!

nobody uses those views

simply hold down control and press f, the find box will pop up, type in maf and then double click on the maf with the conversion you want lbs/min or kg/hr to open it

thats all you use in tunerpro is the find

type in what you want and it'll pop up

datalogging is far easier in tunerpro you simply click poll data and then record, press stop when you wany to stop it and choose where you want to save it

if you have issues let me know

the getting started write up should have everything in it you need to get started
