EEC IV Test Box
Has anyone on here built a EEC IV bench test box? I repair these ECUs and it would be nice to be able to test it on the bench instead of pulling my ecu out everytime to test one that ive repaired.

Re: EEC IV Test Box
I have a little bench I use to test datalogging and such using an old eec-iv break out box.
What exactly are you wanting to verify?

5v reference, fuel pump turning on then off like normal and CEL. I think most ecu issues revolve around these 3 basic things in an old eec iv.

Re: EEC IV Test Box
I've seen the old Rotunda boxes that can be used to test the many different functions of the ecu but those things are hard to find.

Re: EEC IV Test Box
thats easy enough just power the ecu up and verify 5v on the ref with a volt meter. You can use a bulb to verify the cel and a relay for the fp output.

I use a Bowling & Grippo JimStim. It also works to power my OBD2 flashing jig.

The JimStim is a pretty cool deal. you can simulate everything in the ecu.
