It looks like the CEL is fuel related. When cold I was going too rich. Still suffering from some serious dwell on these injectors compared to stock. How do these Injector Offset values look for 52 PSI? Should I be calculating for regulator or pump pressure? Anything else I should be looking at? It runs almost perfect but rich/lean swings are between .80 and 1.2 on the ve histogram but still averaging around 1

I removed the muffler, and rear mounted it just behind the cab. Work around the shop has been busy, and i have not had time to mess with it. I am currently running it with out a check valve, and it works as needed. Drive it everyday. As more time allows I will address the situation better. came from be/ea, and i am still learning my way around the TP/RT software. Have not been able to do any data logging as of yet, but I do have a gauge on the O2 sensor, and closed loop is working good, no CEL's. Just need more free time with it.

Making progress with fueling consistency @ 52psi on the 80s. I wanted to see if I could get it right without lowering fuel pressure. Quick question: does FN367W (Injector Offset Voltage) simply add to the final calculated injector pulse? I started with the correct curve and experimented with lowering PW by .02 until things improved (increasing the PW made it worse so this is counterintuitive). I have experienced a noticeable power increase and fewer CELs but I am at .100 @ 14v. VE looks good and I am not going super rich on decel any more. Am I just overcompensating for some other issue in the tune? Any input would be appreciated.

I'm late didn't see this reply but if you need to reduce the offset that much to get decel fuel under control then most likely your VE tabel in the decel areas needs to be reduced significantly.

I gave up on the 80s for now and switched to Red 19lb injectors from a 1993 Explorer 4.0l I had lying around. Taming the 80s is just above my pay grade. I broke out the needed parameters on the stock J1X tune and got her dialed right in. I implemented the AC1 datalogging patch but most parameters are not correct (HEGO voltage is correct fortunately). Not sure if the conversions are just different on this strat or they are not lining up correctly. If you feel like taking a look at the attached xdf that would be great.

The truck is exceeding my expectations on E85. I found out the 4.9l is heavily knock limited: advanced 8 degrees on the low end and 6 degrees at 3k and up. Fuel economy is only down 12.5% mainly because I can run a gear higher than before in most situations. In Cali I'm paying ~30% less for fuel: $2.35 for a gallon of E85 instead of $3.29 for gasoline. Mission accomplished I'd say: Saving money at the pump, getting much better performance and a much more enjoyable ride. I highly recommend this for folks with access to e85 trying to get better performance out of a stock 4.9. I will post my current bin later on when I am on my laptop. Thanks again for all of the help along the way.

If you're still knocking on e86, I would get a wideband installed and verify that you're getting the correct AFR. These things are under 9:1 compression and should not be knocking at all on corn, or 91.

I only advanced 6 degrees at 3k and above for the same reason though I rarely rev it that high. If I had access to a dyno I could get more scientific about finding MBT but I'm happy as is.

Do any of you guys have any experience with advancing the cam on the inline 6? I read over at fordsix.com that stock they are retarded 4 degrees. Also looking at scorpion 1059 roller rockers. Are either or both of these worth the effort? I would want something bolt on as I'm more of a computer guy than an engine guy.

Here is my current bin for E85. Manual Trans only. This is for a stock 4.9 with 19lb injectors, K&N intake, Magnaflow Cats and gibson exhaust. Runs perfect.
