EDIS ignition supported by SD48B EEC and C3P2 bin ?

Unread postby bobwhite » Sun Oct 21, 2018 10:38 am

anyone know or ever heard of someone running EDIS ignition with SD-48B EEC4 hardware and C3P2 binfile (LHBL0 strat or CalEdit refers to it as ICY1 strat) ? in CalEdit the scalar IGN_TYPE has a value of 4 listed as available, which is supposed to be for EDIS HDR-DIS (36tooth-1). done a lot of searching around and found nothing so far. also according to CalEdit the OEM setting in C3P2 bin for IGN_TYPE is 1, which is ICCD-TFI. i was thinking it should be 0 for pushstart or start wireless TFI, since the truck has the gray metal-colored TFI module? is this simply an error in the CalEdit software or what? i've also ran across some very interesting things people have done to run EDIS or DIS with various pcm's, but none utilizing SD Lightning pcm's. insight or comments appreciated.

Have you looked at the LHBH1 strategy book? Not the same probably give some clues.

Wiring changes for edis signals and firmware to drive then need to be identified.

it looks like the edis code is missing in lhbl0, it looks like it would be around 0x213d or in that routine but its missing.

unless its elsewhere and im missing it, but from what i see lhbl0 will not support edis

thanks for the responses jsa and decipha. decipha, did you notice in the code if it might be possible for me to run the tbird super coupe type of "external" tfi DIS? it would be nice to get the distributor out of the way to make more room for m122 sc install. in C3P2.bin scalar IGN_TYPE value of 2 or 3 is supposed to be single plug LDR-DIS. LHBH1 strat doc says value of 2 in some places and 3 in others. a four-vane cup for the crank and an explorer cam sensor with a shaft with the proper oil pump hex drive size will be required. it all depends on whether the C3P2 binfile will support single plug LDR-DIS. thanks

speaking from a supercoupe enthusiast dontuse that garbage

much better to use a 35 tooth reluctor with the VR crank trigger much more accurate and reliable

here is an excerpt from my disassembly using SAD: NOTE: p336 is possibly the location in the LHBH1 strat doc logic diagrams that explains this code.

428e: b3,fe,30,42 ldb R42,[Rfe+30] R42 = [cc4c]; #IGN_TYPE = 1, System - Ignition Type, 1 = TFI_ICCD, $01 = 1
4292: 99,02,42 cmpb R42,2
4295: d7,0d jne 42a4 if (R42 == 2){ #if (R42 == 2) p336 ? IGN_TYPE
4297: fa di disable ints;

[CC4C] is the location of scalar IGN_TYPE. it's the only place i'm aware of IGN_TYPE being mentioned as being possibly having a value of 2(LDR-DIS-DP or LDR-DIS ?). the strat doc is inconsistent about the value of 2 being DP or single plug. after reviewing LHBH1 strat doc, i noticed on p. 45 in the strategy evolution section that all DIS logic should have been removed including FEM logic. so it seems doubtful that LHBL0 will support any type of DIS ? please bear in mind, i'm not a software engineer, I.T., or a geek. i AM only a lowly gearhead.

impossible to tell anything from that. Obviously u need to look at the code 0x0b down to see what its doing with the value.
