MicroSquirt® for 1986-93 Ford 5.0 Mustang?

For all other non specifically listed ECU tuning. This would include can-bus ecu's such as powerpc copperhead tricore and siemens ecus. As well as GM, Dodge or any aftermarket controller tuning etc...

MicroSquirt® for 1986-93 Ford 5.0 Mustang?

Unread post by Neald »

MicroSquirt® for 1986-93 Ford 5.0 Mustang? Or a later 96-04 pcm and repinned harness connector (104 pin?). Tuned with MongoosePro Ford?. Just asking for ideas and opinions on tuning life after Moates supply shutdown. Seems to be reality so time to move on . I'd like the idea of a factory ecm still and MAF. But microsquirt is fairly cheap, easy to install but is speed density..

Tweecer is another option, but not on TP IIRC.

I know I can tune his car with my QH and get a tune established, but there is no device available now to keep the tune with his ECM without leaving my QH on it and I can't do that. That's why I thought maybe a later ECM.. Like a 96+ ECM that can be written by a sct or some other type tuning device. But I'm not fluent in any of those. That's why I created this thread to get more ideas.

Yes. Thanks JSA. But how to write a tune to one without a Jaybird? Not available anymore.

Burn2 and FA are supposed write the same as jaybird, I've not used it.

SCT 7500 is the SCT burner, probably requires their software as well.

I've not used this either, you'd need to question them about suitability.

I was just going to bring up topic of the SCT 7500.. I'm wondering if it Really needs their software.. or if TunerproRt will work? I will check the burn 2 and FA as well. I thought the burn2 only burned chips removed from a board..?. I could be wrong. Is that a moates product?.

Yes the 7500 requires the PRP and won't communicate with TPRT
Burn2 FE/FA combo won't work on PRP either.

6600 works on both Burn2/FA/FE and JayBird
F3V2 won't work on 7500.
