yep, as long as you know whats really going on theres nothing to worry about

My current a9l2 (not posted) is far beyond what gufb could display to be even remotely correct, thus when i do finish up on my def file for tunerpro ill name it GUFX so theres absolutely no confusion

The guy running it said he only changed injector settings and MAF curve. Yet in his log, the KAMRFs are all 1's which made me think that 258 value i'm seeing was preventing his adaptives.

so i down loaded a9l2 today, and compared it to, what i thought, was a my already current version, and it showed a difference of 82 rows. Would it be safe to say, I need to update and start over?

Thank You, for the quick response.

is FN901 base spark table no longer used? All timing is now controlled threw FN904A the sea level spark table?

Does the base spark table need to be populated? does it do anything?

This A9L2 has me curious. I punched in the MAF transfers, injector slopes and offsets (thanks decipha!) My car idles much better, and A/F's are around 14.0-14.5. Can I just download the A9L2 and copy my MAF transfers and injector info to that file? Will It have much benefit? Sorry I'm new to this.

i do have a 250 shot going on my friends 95 so i'll be rewriting it on cbaza and porting it back over to gufb and fbfg2/rzasa

I can not seem to download the A9L2 BIN file. I have a version I downloaded back in August of last year, just wanted to make sure there aren't any "new tricks" that have been worked into the newest version.

P.S. I found the link in another thread...

I'm looking forward to messing around with this and I can't thank you (decipha) enough for all of this knowledge and ability you've bestowed on all of us wanna-be tooners!!

Correct. The link at the bottom of the A9L2 write-up takes you to the home page.

http://efidynotuning.com/index.htm << That's the direct copy link from your hyperlink "Downloads >> TunerPro Files >> A9L2"

Hey Decipha,
I am looking at the FN1861 ISC Startup multiplier table. In the stock A9L it only goes up to 30 seconds after startup but in the A9L2 it continues up to 255 seconds after startup. I want to adjust things because on warm startup the idle hangs high and I want to bring it back down quicker similar to the stock setup. Before I did anything I just wanted to check with you and determine your logic on extending it out so far after startup. Sorry if I should have started a new thread I wasn't sure since this is technically a question about the A9L2.

Thanks,
Brian

When dialing in FN035 is everything below 1300 disregarded or does it interpolate from zero RPM?

FN035 starts at 0. Obviously you can't dial that in, so Decipha has it set to 200 perload to keep off idle tip in load spikes from commanding ridiculous lambse.

Ridiculous lambse would equal bad AFR's while doing things like slipping the clutch on a hill...

I have a low RPM shutter while lugging the car below 1300. Wasn't sure if that correlated. I assume it's more the MAFv than anything at this point being as all that I have dialed in is PERLOAD and now I'm looking through the fueling and MAF curve.

I have to admit that it appears there's no room for improvement by a novice like myself through seat of the pants "tuning" over the A9L2 base tune. I feel as if I'm almost to the point of putting it on the dyno and see what we can do with the rest. Great job Decipha!!

I have a bunch of custom code i wrote in the a9l2 and moving some scaling functions for better resolution, BE doesnt allow dynamic function scaling nor arithmetic on binary values so theres no way to know what the ecu is actually using with BE

its best to upgrade to tunerpro as its much simpler and faster

Does the A9L2 retain the factory A9L adaptive fueling functions?

I drove around my Mustang with a 351W, 30lbs injectors and "calibrated" mass air meter for 14 years with A9L and only had complaints about hot starting and some low RPM bucking.

Once I change the 8 items referred to in the A9L2 page, and dial in FUEL and AIR will the system act very close to the A9L programming in regards to drivability?

Are there items in the A9L2 programming that increase performance, but cause a decrease in the smoothness/ease of operation compared to that of the A9L?

My engine has no EGR passages or AIR pump and the equipment is gone.

What is required to disable those in the A9L2 code so it doesn't throw a check engine light?

When reading through the parameters it seems like the A9L2 uses EGR signal for a significant amount of spark and fuel.

Will this be a problem not having EGR/AIR/SMOG?

pfehp is the egr enable / disable switch a value of 2 as the comments say disables it, its already disabled in the a9l2

smog pump is called the thermactor, theres a switch to disable it and in the a9l2 its already disabled

nope none of that is required other than for emissions

I should have also asked, is the Canister Purge included in the thermactor? I know if I disconnect the purge solenoid it will turn on the check engine light.

Being young and foolish I removed the canister 15 years ago, I think I might have even cut the line off behind the passenger wheel. I always just left the purge solenoid plugged in as to not get a check engine light.

I do have the canister in a box somewhere. Is this a item I should think of putting back on the car?

If the canister has been removed can it be disabled in the A9L2 so it doesn't turn the check engine light on?
