Best Head Gasket for gt40p head studded SBF

Unread postby 89mustangcoupe » Sun Apr 22, 2018 9:09 pm

on my 302 gt40p sbf ford the number 8 cylinder gasket split near the exhaust side not sure what gasket they are exactly they look like felpro possibly. Is there a better gasket to run with gt40p heads and 302 block. i heard felpro 9333 pt1 are good. i also heard you can o ring the head? can that be done without o ringing the block. trying to get the best possible gasket for my setup I'm running a vortech v1 with 10 psi. i have arp head studs also. also thinking of possibly just got to aluminum heads if needed.

o ringing blocks and heads were in ancient times when mls gaskets didnt exist. Only ignorant people do that these days.

just toss some mls gaskets on it.

I ordered another set of 9333s to put under my Ps after I attempt to fix my shitty hone job from this past summer. I will be installing an On3 single 70mm turbo kit at the same time and I don't expect any problems.

If it needs head gaskets, MLS is what I throw at it... usually the Cometic stuff. I've reused them successfully before too.
