Idle jump and stall

Unread postby RClements95 » Wed Apr 11, 2018 2:10 pm

Mild 302 build with A3M tune with Moates QH and BE. Trickflow 36# injectors and calibrated Pro-M MAF.

I have it setup for mechanical idle control with IPSIBR at 0 at warm idle and ISC duty at 25% with RPM holding at 800. When I first start the car or rev to 2500 or above rpm it will come down to 800 rpm at a good controlled rate then it will jump up to about 1300 RPM then when it comes back down it will drop to 5-600 RPM and stall. Any suggestions. Greatly appreciate it!

I have that issue when fuel is wrong between the idle cells and the cells off idle. Lambse chases the off idle cells and as dashpot decays it needs to swing the other way and can't do it fast enough.

Any suggestions to what i can adjust so that i can at least get a drive in to do a 3rd gear lug pull so that i can tune my fuel error%? It will run and drive but being a manual its difficult to take it in traffic far enough to find an empty back road to do the log.

Dial in those cells. There's only a few down that low so it should only take a minute or so.

Ok awesome. Thanks slowbox.

Im pretty new to this as well, first time self tuning. But I have spent hours researching and reading on the website and on the forums. I just want to not feel like im chasing my tail all the time lol. Just to be sure, I plugged in the injector data from the website for my injectors and the maf data. Am I going to need to apply the scaling percentage to either of these? I feel like being a N/A build there should not be to many adjustments I need to make to the tune to have it run correct. Maybe im wrong. Can you give the short and sweet of the steps you would take to tune it.

Trickflow 170 heads, Trickflow stg1 cam, 36# injectors, cal ProM MAF.

Thanks again, just want to have a streetable car for summer, and not make any crucial mistakes and have a boom haha.

your injectors and maf are within the ecu calculation abilities so you do not need to scale it

just dial the maf in
