TunerPro RT won't connect to QH

Unread postby nanserbe » Mon Jul 25, 2016 12:10 am

Tunerpro RT will write tunes to my QH (v1.6) successfully, but verification fails, and when I hit Acquire Data (the double blue arrow button), nothing happens and nothing shows under the data dash.

Could it be a bad QH? I'm using the cable that came with the QH with the magnets on it.

Anything to try?

Your hitting "initialize emulation hardware" the usb cable looking button first?

Regarding the verifying chip with buffer error, try closing down TunerPro, restarting it and then trying the verification again. This generally works for me.

Tried restarting Tunerpro and immediately trying to upload/verify, still says failed.

Tunerpro will recognize that there is a QH hooked up, when I hit the "initialize emulation hardware" button it shows Quarterhorse 1.6.Q in the bottom.

I also verified that all the settings are correct based off the getting started document by decipha.

Also tried updating the FTDI drivers but that didn't work either.

Could I have a bad version of Tunerpro/definitions/bin? Some of the values in different tables are all the same, such as the A9L2 sealevel spark table all says 63.75 across the board. Not sure if that's supposed to be that way, just started using the A9L2 bin...

When trying the shut down -> restart -> verification method of getting the write to verify do not upload again, just try the verification again. I find it verifies the contents OK.

Tried that as well, didn't work either.

Just noticed I had to upload the tune twice just now to get the QH to actually show a change, the first time the fuel pump ran continuously. After I loaded it the second time it worked fine and the pump ran for the expected couple seconds.

I'm almost suspecting a faulty QH or the battery that's in it now; I loaded a stock A9L tune, ignition on, pump primed for a couple seconds, car started, ran, and revved fine. Disconnected my laptop, looked at something on the internet, went to restart it, pump ran continuously as if it had a faulty tune on it. I didn't start it based on what I read about how you shouldn't if the pump ran continuously.

I reconnected, reuploaded the A9L stock tune, tried starting it, it stumbled and wouldn't rev. Tried reuploading again, pump primed for the expected couple seconds, started the car, it ran and revved fine.

Also tried another laptop, but that didn't work either.

I'll pull the QH and check the battery in a bit and report back.

Battery in the QH reads 2.6v, Moates says that they don't cause problems until 2.0-2.2v.

Wish I could get BE 2010 to work on Windows 10 to see if it was a software prob.

Also tried a different USB cable with no change.

Got BE2010 to work on my Windows 10 laptop, looks like BE2010 isn't getting any information when I datalog, even though everything I want is checked in the datalog tab, nothing but 0's across the dashboard.

Faulty QH? Or is there a bad computer setting I'm missing?

Do you have a later version of QH with an easily replaceable battery (no soldering). That's what I would be doing if I had the fuel pump continuous thing going on.

Tried a different ADX, the one from Moates site (http://support.moates.net/gufb_56k/) and now I can actually click the Acquire Data button and then the dash and it shows me everything.

Still no go on the Verify though.
