Missing Information

Unread postby brewster » Tue Oct 06, 2020 4:53 pm

I bench flashed an A9L EEC-IV with a Moates Quarter Horse at my desk top after setting up a base tune for it using A9L2 and following the instructions in the getting started write up. Installed in the car and it flashed right up.

Problem is I recently bought a new lap top ( HP ENVY) and I set up TP and all the stuff I did on a previous laptop, so I took the new lap top out to the car and tried to read the current .bin to TP from the emulator to start logging and calibrating and it comes out all jumbled. What am I doing wrong, Pic attached.

you cant flash the eec 4

flashing is writing the ecu memory over obd2

thats obviously not a tune file you read your qh battery must be dead

I downloaded the .bin to the QH from my desktop where I set up the base file with TP using A9L2, Then installed into the EEC and installed them into the car. Car starts and runs good so I figured I could then use my new lap top which I set up and just read the file and carry on from there. QH is also brand new with brand new battery.

Same issue with reading my other fox with this laptop, same jumbled read out and that's a new QH from Moates as well.

I've never had luck writing the QH without the ECU installed and power on. In fact, I have it on video that it can corrupt the tune.

Key off corruption

Interesting I've never wrote a tune with the key on before lol

I think I know whats going on, most likely the bin is pushed over 1 byte due to needing E001 as the bin size from an issue with one of my patches in GUFX.

I have noticed that before too.

So what addresses would you read say if you read out a 56k with a QH? I have seen them range from 002000-00FFFF to 000000-00DFFF

Both were corrupted. One XDF was E001/-2000 and the other was E000/-2000. Same results..

Dead battery you think?

I sent myself the .bin via email from the desktop and then downloaded it into the QH from the new laptop and now its all correct. Not sure why I'm not able to read out a QH or F3 with the new laptop.

No running change though, the QH took the original file im assuming.

yeah thats what in the pre tune info

problem is when reading a chip its when reading the tune out from the QH with an eec-iv xdf loaded in tunerpro.

If that is indeed the issue with the e001 file size which isn't correct regardless I'll get fixed in the next tunerpro update.
