Hi!
I want retrofit SEFI on a carburated car (Ford Sierra). I bought all the components required. I have an EEC IV with catchcode: JEEP.

Also, on the back black plastic from J3 port is written E9AF. My question is E9AF is the strategy?

The EEC JEEP cames from an old Escort, 1.6, 16V, 90hp, zetec engine, 1997.
Thank you!

JEEP is the catchcode.

e9af is the part number for the black cover.

Thank you, Jsa! The strategy can be read just with SAD or BE ? All I know is the strategy of Zetec is based on the Mustang strategy. So we don't know what strategy & calibration are on the JEEP EEC !?

BE will read it. SAD will disassemble it.
TP will read it also.

The best way of going about these conversions, is to get an EEC that can run a strategy that has a definition available for it already.
Failing that, at least an EEC from the same capacity engine and transmission type, as less things will need to be found and adjusted.

Post a pic up of the JEEP label on the main connector, there will be a hardware code on it.
Cheers

Pym wrote:Hi all,

no more work was done on 0SLTXA, since last year.
But I have worked on other strategies starting from 1992.

Where it is impossible to find equivalence for 0SLTXA (except on identical engines and cars),
this is not the same thing with zetec or duratec engines.
Zetec 1992=>1994 definitions are really near mustang ones, like CBAZA.
Duratec 1996=>2000 (like probably zetec) are compatible with mustang ones, based on years.

It makes the work easier.

Theoretically, if I would use CBAZA/GUFB/A strategy like a startpoint, then creating a calibration for my setup it would work? I mean using Quarter Horse and BE or TP.

SME-405 is the hardware code for yours.
That means you can run any catchcode or strategy from any other SME-405 hardware.
I think I have an SME-405 from a 1.8 kicking around.

CBAZA/GUFB/A run on different hardware, so I wouldn't expect them to run on SME-405.

These are great news! It will be awesome if you find that strategy. Is it binary? Or is it a definition file?

Hi George,
a bit complicated to adapt a late EECIV ecu on a sierra, without Lambda sensor and without PATS.

Sierra has known everything to manage injection, you should fine an existing ECU with everything you want,
even if you need to use one plugged to a CVH engine.

Please find attached details on Sierra engines 2.0 and V6, including ECU PIN out.
