2006 Mustang & 1993 MarkVIII engine and transmission

Unread post by Pguercio1 »

Hi
I got an 06 Mustang and v6 engine was blown.
I put in a 4.6l DOCH and transmission from a
1993 Mark8. I kept the harness and PCM from the Lincoln
And I also still have the harness of the v6 and it’s pcm.
Need some help on how to get the engine and car wired
Any help would be appreciated

its simple

simply remove the original v6 ecu

hook up battery power and ignition switch to old lincoln ecu and off you go

Ok
There’s 3 plugs on the Mustang ECM.
1 is for engine
2 is for transmission
3rd is for body of the car
So what do I do with the body plug?
Thanks

first you pull the harness and go through the 60 pin connector using what you need and rempving all the body stuff off of it

Ok thanks for that,
Could you please elaborate on this?
Should I let the Mustang ECM keep running the body
And let the Mark 8 PCM run the engine and transmission?

yep

its simple

pull the ecu out wiring harness out then go pin by pin as there is only 60. Wire up the ones you need and everything else remove.

Hi
I’m going to need some real help with all this, is there a way we could work something out for some guidance on re-pinning these ecu’s?
Could we email off the forum?
Please let me know
Thanks

No need its all straight forward.

Here is the link to the pin out from the homepage

http://www.efidynotuning.com/pinouts.htm

CZAJL is tne 93-95 mark 8 which is the second column.

Take the ecu and harness out and go pin by pin running each wire where you need it.

First strip all the loom off so all wires are exposed.

Pin 1 is keep alive power. Youll need to run that wire to the battery positive post with a 10 amp fuse holder.

Pin 2 is the ground input for the brake switch. If you dont hook it up the converter wont unlock when you press the brake. Otherwise run that to the brake switch ground output.

Pin 3 is vss. Pin 6 is the other vss wire. Youll have to separate the vss wiring so those two are by themselves and then put them in their own loom or tape them to keep it clean.

Just keep going down the list. Its easy just time consuming.

Ok great, thanks for that Michael.
I truly appreciate it.
The Lincoln harness and ECM,
I got it, thanks to you.
The Mustang PCM and it’s harness
Not so much, I get what I have to remove,
But what do I have to do with its harness?
Do I have to wire up any wires from there to
the Lincoln ECM?
Some help on that would help me.
Thanks
