I have a stock 89 mustang maf sensor I took it out of the stock hosuing and bought a bigger 76mm hosuing and used the stock maf sensor in the 76mm housing. I'm using 19lb injectors at 60psi. how can I figure out my maf transfer curve. the maf housing doesn't have a sampling tube.

theres a pipe flow size formula you can look up and use, best bet is to just dial it in

When you say 'tube' do you mean the stock housing? And put into a replacement housing made for that sensor? If so, that housing, like a C&L would use a sampling tube proportionally larger and sized for either the stock injectors or other sizes. If sized for stock injectors, then the stock MAF curve would be one to start with. You wouldn't want to change the MAF curve cause of injectors at a higher pressure. Rather adjust the injectors values. Then tweek both as necessary.

I'm using a 76mm maf from autozone lol it doesn't even have the sampling tube inside it. I just mounted the stock sensor inside the 76mm housing with a tube.

I hope this is the correct place for this post.

I don’t have a MAF Transfer Function (TF) sheet for my Pro-M 80mm Shorty:
• Calibration 30C
• MAF Model No. 80R
• MAF SN 994800
• Vehicle info in signature

I’ll eventually replace this MAF with a PMAS HPX-E slot style. Until then I would like to double check that I’m using the best MAF TF for initial tuning. I started tuning a couple years ago, stopped, forgot everything, and now I’m starting over. I’ve read the write ups again, but I’m not confident I understand sufficiently.

I plan to change my injector data to:
Low Slope 37.504
High Slope 35.952
Breakpoint 0.0000253007

VOLTAGE OFFSET

voltage ms
16.00 0.428
15.00 0.428
14.00 0.504
13.00 0.609
12.00 0.709
11.00 0.847
10.00 1.026
8.00 1.621
6.00 3.160
0.00 3.160
0.00 3.160
0.00 3.160

My current TF is very close to the “30lb Calibrated Foxbody MAF” TF from the MAF Flow Transfer downloads page. I cannot remember where I got my current TF.

A couple years ago on EECTuning Jeddy2 gave me his TF. He had a Pro-M 80 also, but 42# injectors. When I adjust for the difference in injectors his TF is very similar to the “30lb Calibrated Foxbody MAF” TF and mine.

Questions:
1. Why would my flow value for 0 volts be higher than the other two TFs??
MAF TF Comparison.JPG

2. Am I okay using the current TF for the initial tuning steps?

3. I want to adjust the injector slopes and get the MAF TF as good as I can, set my FP, base idle reset, etc. and start using the A9L2. I have not changed much in the OEM X3Z tune. What I have changed is shown in one of the attachments. Am I on the right track?
X3Z_1_vs_3.5.JPG

4. I tried to display the above TFs using a BBCode [table][/table], but all it displayed was the raw code. I didn't see anything about using tables in the BBCode guide page. Is that possible on this forum
Thanks in advance for your help.

1> cuz you have the wrong value in there, your maf transfer is corrupt, you need to change that value less than the value above it, in the maf transfer all numbers must be chronological otherwise the ecu will reset everytime it reaches that point

2> you can use anything it doesn't matter

3 & 4> use "[code]" instead to keep the formatting

load in your actual maf transfer and actual injector data and see if the injectors or the maf is off

everything you need to know is in the maf101 write up and fuel write up

I don't have the actual MAF transfer, or the actual injector data (Accel 30#s). I guess I'll adjust the 0 volt value and go from there.

decipha wrote:4> use "[c ode]" instead to keep the formatting

I tried this, but it did not work to display anything by the raw code.

you don't need the tags just simply post the values wrapped in a [code] or [list]

Doesn't seem to work. No worries. I can just post screenshots. I don't want to keep mucking up this topic.

looks fine to me you just need to keep your value the same length so they fall into place the same otherwise you have to add in spaces to get them to all line up

Now that I see it in Safari on my iPad I agree. It doesn't look nearly as good in Microsoft's Edge browser. Thanks for the tips.

I'm still working on learning tunerpro RT and had some time to work on my A9L2 tune. When I data-log and view the dashboard my mafV at idle (850 rpms) shows 0.28V which I thought seemed off. I found a WOT pull in any gear wouldn't bring the mafv over 1.0V. I remember tuning in Binary Editor my idle mafv was around 0.80V and would go up to around 4.5V.

Do I need to make an adjustment in tunerpro RT to get the dashboard to display a 0-5V range?

Data-log with an attempt to increase MAFV for A/F tuning:

download the latest gufx xdf off the homepage and the latest adx, apply the univ adx patch to your tune and then log, should be legit then

imaf is in ad counts instead of volts, that way its universal with eecV and the equation can never be wrong
