Knock detection diy(not microphone)

Unread postby Pappacosworth » Wed Jul 26, 2017 1:32 am

I found interesting schematic, I think I could try this. http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/project ... spage.html
Is there some way to add signal for datalogging. In Hptuners I have aux inputs, but those such new cars do have knock sensors.
Maybe I will buy more professional device for tuning but now I can't

I bought similar device ready from ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Knock-gauge-for ... 2749.l2649
It works very well. I checked adjustment by looking knock retard table in HPTuners. It was easy to check that if fuelling was lean, detonation occurs easier. It has even analog output 0-5 v according to knock signal strength. S197 doesn't really need this, because it has decent knock detection but it was good the check that device works and how.
