Looking for pics/info on how you mounted/located the coils

Yes, i am. You can mount them anywhere. I plan on putting them on the valve cover and using ls wires. You could mount them on the firewall and build custom plug wires too.

Awesome, do you plan on using oem coils? How far off are you from doing the coils on your build? Having a hard time finding pics of ford coils mounted on a pushrod 302

I'm an using 2v coils since they have a mount hole. I'm building a bracket to weld directly to the valve cover to hold them. You won't find pictures of them most likely. It's not common. I'm still a ways off on that. I'm still messing with the air bag suspension but i already have the ecu wiring roughed in.

I'm in the planning phase right now. I have the engine harness and ECU. The plan is to complete it over winter off season and get it running/tuned early spring. I'm also thinking a bracket on the valve covers is the best option for mounting the coils.

I'm about to build a press brake so i can bend up the bracket. I'm still collecting parts but I'm really close to getting it running. I should have it running before the end of the year. I have so much to do on the truck, It's overwhelming so i lost interest for a bit this summer.

Definitely been there. I have a 4runner that's been sitting waiting on an engine swap.

I'd be interested in see the brackets you come up with. I'm debating trying to do bolt on to valve cover bolts, or welding on bolt pads on top of valve cover, or through bolts on top of valve cover.

Also needing to figure out how to mount the crank sensor. I have the stock sensor from a 04 marquis. I have an aftermarket pioneer balancer that is balanced with the motor so I don’t want to swap for the explorer timing cover set up. I have a 36-1 wheel I can’t mount behind the crank pulley. Guess I’ll have to fab a bracket and use some shims for gapping the sensor.

I'm in the planning stage of doing the same thing for my SN95. Its easy for me to use the explorer timing cover because its basically the same as 94-95 mustangs. I was going to order this trigger wheel.

I've done quite a few of them. There's currently a premium member that has a sbf gt40 302 in a ranger with one as well.

LMK when any of yall are ready and I'll post an updated xdf with my new ect code and a base sbf manual trans tune as well to make life significantly easier.
