GPD Pocket 7

Unread postby nitrouscobra » Thu Dec 14, 2017 11:27 am

I am currently using a huge ASUS laptop for my tuning and such. Been considering going with something more compact. Has anyone here seen the GPD Pocket 7'? I think the processor might be the only limiting factor when logging a bunch of stuff but otherwise what do you guys think?

Could easily keep it in the car for on the fly tuning / changes if you have EEC-V / QH that cant do the rotary dial. Plus it looks like an actually decent mobile computing device to play with.

Looks great except it's about 10x what I want to spend on a tablet for the car.

I agree it is a bit pricey. They can be found in the $400 range though so its not quite as bad. If you can (or have) other instances where a small device like that could come in handy then might just be worth it.

I am all ears to other options for netbook size devices that interface with the QH / BE for logging and tuning. I tried a buddies old netbook and it would run BE well enough.... Until you try to log more then 3 things at a time. Then it would exponentially slow down for every item added. It was an old Verizon 3G one though lol.

That is for the link! Going to have to check that out. Specifically if it can have multiple usb inputs. I decided to go the hardware license so that's what always kept me from looking at tablets. Buddies windows tablet wouldn't take more then one sub device at a time.

Upgrade to Tunerpro and you won't have that issue, and it'll log more than 3 payloads.

I downloaded TP and started poking around it. Yeah that is going to take a min before I get comfortable enough to start actually using it.

Looks pretty good though.
