Unread postby peterloo » Fri Jun 02, 2017 9:49 pm

Hi,

I have a 1990 Ford Bronco 5.8L 351 Windsor that I had rebuilt and added many Edelbrock parts.

Here is a list of parts that I had upgraded with:

.030 over
BBK Power-Plus Series Throttle Bodies 3501 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bbk-3501
Edelbrock Performer Truck 5.8 EFI Intake Manifolds 3881 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-3881
Edelbrock Performer RPM Cylinder Heads 60259 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-60259
Edelbrock 7128 Performer RPM Camshaft Kit Small Block Ford 351W http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Performance+ ... 2/10002/-1
Edelbrock Aluminum Roller Rockers 77780 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-77780
Bassani headers and Y-pipes http://www.bassani.com/part/58150B
etc...

I am not familiar with EEC tuning so I am hoping to find assistance here.

Any help would be grateful.

My ECM info is as follows:

E0D
EFI-SD47

Thanking you in advance.

welcome to the forum peter, you found the right place

your setup seems pretty simple, i dont foresee you having any tuning issues

that ecu should be able to run the lhbl0 strategy which is what i use on them, you shouldnt have any issues dialing her in

as far as tuning sw goes, you can go the BE route and use sailorbobs lhbl0 strategy ~$185 for the tuning software

youll need a QH from moates.net $250

Hi decipha,

Thank you so much for your prompt reply.

Will this tuning help with my emissions? My Bronco has been off the road since second quarter of 2016. I just got it completed and running now and would like to get emissions testing done and register it to start driving it again.

By the way, I am in Arizona.

Thank you again.

yea, speed density will need tuning to get the fueling back in check for all your changes, what injectors are you running?

Bosch 0280150943. They are stock replacement.

I read the user comments on QH and the complaints are mainly on the battery which is used to maintain the memory of the tune. It is also a concern to me.

I plan on using my Bronco to travel across the US and Canada with my camper trailer and can't have the battery die while I am on the road. This is not very convenient. :(

those stock replacements aren't going to support your engines power

the battery issue was fixed many moons ago, the QH is for tuning, after the final tune is complete its always best to write the tune to a j3 chip that lasts forever, they can be had from moates.net as well for $65 along with the jaybird to write the chip for $75

Hi Mike,

As mentioned in my private email to you, after I had installed QH and loaded the two files that you had provided, now I am unable to keep the engine running without forcing with the gas peddle and I am smelling gas out of the exhaust. You asked me to check connection. According to TunerPro RT, the connection to QH is just fine.

You had asked me to download the stock tune. I am afraid I don't know how. What other hardware and software do I need besides TunerPro RT and Quarter Horse as that is all that I have at this point.

I am starting to regret going with Quarter Horse as there seem to be more unknown components that I may need. With Tweecer, I don't believe I would need anything else. With Tweecer, I won't need any other hardware or software to download the stock tune.

Very frustrating.

you are misinformed, u can read the stock tune out through the QH, the details are in the getting started link

the only reason why i asked you to read out the stock tune is so we can verify it had a good connection

heres the details
