Data logging issue - GUFX - A9L2

Unread postby nc5l » Fri Apr 14, 2017 8:49 am

Hi All,

I have searched everywhere to see if I can solve this on my own but with no success.
I have an Australian Falcon with a 2DCA ecu currently running A9L2 binary on a Quarterhorse.

Engine runs fine,I can write bins successfully but my issue is with data logging. I am using the GUFX.adx in TunerPro RT and some PID's do not work.
TPS
RPM
AIT
ECT

I can see hegos, lamse, vbatt and others all seem to work fine.
Is this a patch code issue with Aus spec ecu?

Thanks Dan.

At a guess it might be a version difference between the bin and the adx.

Thanks for the reply JSA,

I initially thought the same although I tried multiple different GUFB calibrations, all stock and experienced the same result.

Thanks.

A9L2 is not stock.

Decipha has had more than one patch code implementation over time.

I don't think the hardware is relevant to the issue.

Yes, I tried good old A9L too and had the same issue.

Yes I'm using GUFX_20160927.adx

Also tried two different EEC's and still the same.

Would the battery on the QH have anything to do with the issue?

I have tried BE with both matching 2DDA strat and Bin as well as A9L and GUFB strat with no luck.
PIDs in BE don't even change then the dataloging just ends.

If the QH battery was an issue the car would not run.

You said in your first post some pids work, is that still the case?

Yes that was the case. IEGO1 & 2, LAMBSE's and VBAT were all fine. RPM, ECT, ACT, & TP didn't work.

decipha wrote:your j3 port isnt clean

I managed to get it to work by knife-and-forking.

First I tried manually writing the patch code as found in the ADX (including checksum byte) to the QH using REALTERM, although the QH always responeded with a 0x3E ASCII ?. If I remember correctly this means the QH failed to interperet the command.

Failing that I eneded up copying the patch code from command in the ADX to 0x84B2 in the binary using HEX Workshop.

Wrote the newly patched bin to the QH and all PID's worked as they should.

Still beggs the question as to what is causing the issue from TunerPRO when writing the patch code...

Thanks or your help.

I'm having the same issue. All the gauges were working and as of yesterday they stopped. Well the ones that are not working are ect, act, and rpm. I was having issues with hegos not switching on the dashboard. I assumed it was a mechanical/wiring problem. Yesterday my ect and act were both showing 82. The tach was not working at all. Is this a similar issue to yours?

updated universal eec-iv adx and updated gufx xdf posted on the homepage

be sure to enabled the "restore console routine" patch first if you have an tune that may have existing patch code in it.

simply do the follow

download the new adx and xdf

open the files in tunerpro and your existing tune

apply the restore console patch

apply the universal adx patch

click on poll and start logging

enjoy

download the latest universal adx file off the homepage for eec-iv

go to the dash make sure eec-iv dash is being view and not the eec-v dash, its the default dash so it should pop up first, anywho, wbo2-aem is the wideband, it should show up right in the middle of the screen already, you can right click on it and select an lc1 plx etc... aem is the default though

be sure to download the latest gufx xdf off the homepage too, i added some things to it just last night, you will have to remove the universal adx patch and re-enable it to get the latest and greatest goodies

I must admit im fuckin tickled with where i finally got her, i went from a foxbody to my marauder using the same ADX, its so nice

How do I change ad counts back to mafv?

*edit* the maf transfer is in imaf instead of mafv. is there anyway to change it back?

Two step patch is acting crazy also. If you apply the patch without setting the rpm limit it shots the car off because the limit is automatically set to 95 rpm. If set the limit then apply patch it does not apply. It has this message.. indeterminate: data does not match

I think I may have the issue. When I open the restore console patch it won't let me remove the patch. It's showing the patch as being applied. It's not letting me apply the universal adx patch either.

I opened up the new xdf and adx with a stock a9l2 bin and apllied the console restore patch and then the universal adx patch. i noticed when i applied the universal patch it automatically removed the console patch. is this normal?

yep thats why u have to do them in that order

you have to restore the console routine then write the patch code over it

On the bin I posted up I think there's something wrong with that one. It won't apply the universal adx patch and console patch is already applied when it's opened. On the a9l2 bin the console patch is not applied at first. I went back through the bin to make sure I didn't miss anything and I can't find anything obvious.

I see the issue with your tune file and not accepting the universal adx, its due to a small segment of the code being there so it won't allow it to overwrite

I posted an updated xdf, I broke out the universal adx and the disable datalogging patches as two seperate patches, will make it much easier now and no chance of error :)

enjoy, its on the homepage
