2.3 Turbo BE 2012.

Unread postby TheElementOfOne » Sun Nov 17, 2013 2:49 pm

I'm tuning using Binary Editor 2012 and the SVOJohn LSD bin file. It seems like everything is working great except the open loop fuel table. It seems like there is no changes when editing the table. I can play around with injector sizing to get the car to run correctly with a decent air fuel (Using AEM wide band) but under load it's way to rich.

I'm using the stock 35Lb injectors, tried 2 PCM's just in case. Nothing seems to be working for me. I have ensured the connection to the QH is good and that everything seems to be correct as far as forcing open loop, etc. Any Ideas? I'm at a loss. There have been similar posts with no answers like this one: http://forum.turboford.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=056649. Although when I do read from the QH after closing and opening the software it is updated.

*Edit, *8UA PCM, GM 3bar map, ECT is reading correctly and ACT is reading correctly as well.

can you post your tune file?

if i understand you correctly, you can make changes until the person in the link, but your changes dont seem to be doing anything correct?

Sure, attached is the file.

I went to test the car out again to see if I could make any changes. Still the same result, no matter what changes are being made to the fuel table (Base open loop or the AFR open loop) nothing seems to change.

I'm not sure if this could have anything to do with it, previously I was getting a check sum error, I disabled the function in the BE software which then enabled me to go about tuning, but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

I have seen posts about using the LA3_REV6 with BE 2012, but in the 2.3 Tweecer page it has the LSD listed for 2012, I've tried the Rev6 and have the same issues.
Wasn't sure if this is possibly a BE 2012 issue.

I can load the LA3_Rev6 and LA3_SD, but still with the same result.
No changes to the open loop fuel will show any improvement. I thought the issue was a faulty ECT (reading -40*) but fixed the issue with the ECT.

It's odd that I haven't found anyone else with the same issues but the other Turbo Ford post, with no answer.
I've seen a quite a few users using the BE 2010, but no information about using BE 2012. I've tried 2 PCM's and no improvement at all.

I don't have access to BE 2010, I wish I did just to see if there was any improvement.

how are you verifying its not doing anything?

change the table to all 16s and click update

then change it to all 12s and click update

you'll know real quick like if its communicating

That's exactly what I'm doing.

If I change anything in the AFR or base table no changes to the wide band. I had set everything way rich or way lean just to test. No differences, although If I change injector sizing I see a huge difference just trying to get it to idle and stuff like that.

So I feel like the QH is working and communicating/writing properly. I can't seem to find anyone else with the same issue using BE 2012 (Unless it's unresolved). I know a lot of SD swapped 2.3 users are using the BE 2010 software.

Yes, in the Bin you can see I have open loop at idle enabled and closed loop disabled.

It should be running at open loop at all times, or am I wrong?

Nothing other than the speed density swap. I cleaned and flowed the injectors, ensuring they were flowing 34~35lbs, and then speed density swapped. Originally using the PC1 (5speed), I did the wiring swap to the 87-88 pcm. (Lb3 and 8UA) both show the same issues.

Other than that just a cone air filter, wide band, ported manifold, open down pipe and a 255 walbro pump. All except the pump were on the car with the VAM setup and had no issues other than being a bit lean every now and then like most VAM cars.

set the minimum frequency for a reliable map signal to max
or set the maximum frequency for a reliable signal to 0

that will set a map fault and cause the ecu to use failure management
